Italy
Out of all the countries I have traveled to, I have to say that Italy is my favorite. The food, rich colors of the landscapes and buildings, the friendly Italians, that are willing to forgive my lack of Italian language skills, and whose laid-back culture is contagious, are just a few of my reasons to go back to my grandfather’s homeland. Several of my Italy paintings were from a 2019 one-week painting workshop where we would tour an ancient town in Tuscany in the morning and go back to our host’s art studio for hours of painting and a 5-course lunch and dinner. On a recent trip to Tuscany, I kept asking my wife to pull the car over to the side of the road because I saw a potential painting.
